Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together a list of the most common questions asked. For more specific set of questions and answers about your particular trade please choose your trade from the list below.

What cover do you need legally?

If your business has employees or uses subcontractors then you are legally required to arrange employers liability insurance. If you work alone without employees or subcontractors then you have no legal obligation to arrange cover, but you would be foolish to trade without public liability insurance.

What is public liability insurance?

Public Liability Insurance (sometimes referred to as third party insurance) provides cover if, as a result of your business, any party brings a claim against you for:
  1. bodily injury or property damage occurring during the period of insurance;
  2. personal injury or denial of access committed during the period of insurance,

What is damage to property worked on?

This is an additional cover to a public liability insurance policy that covers you should a claim be brought against you for damage to the item being cleaned. This is normally excluded on most policies, but if you arrange cover with GLEAMING INSURANCE you will have this cover automatically.
