Tools and Equipment Insurance is available as an additional cover to a public liability insurance or combined liability insurance policy. However, the cover can be written onto the same policy and taken under the same single direct debit payment.
The tools and equipment insurance cover is underwritten by Hiscox Insurance and includes cover for loss, theft or damage of your business machinery, tools and equipment.
The tools and equipment insurance cover is written on an All Risks basis and as well as covering the traditional cleaning tools such as water fed pole systems, carpet cleaning systems, gutter vac systems etc it also covers other business equipment:
This includes;
- plant and machinery;
- hand tools and portable power tools;
- stock, samples and goods held in trust;
- laptops and mobile phones;
- ladders;
- hired-in plant and machinery.
Truck mounted tanks and cleaning machines are covered.
COVER PROVIDED:
This covers tools, equipment and plan belonging to the insured or leased to them or
hired under a hire purchase agreement. Cover provided is on an all risks basis and
can include cover for water fed pole systems including tanks, truck mounted carpet
cleaning machines and portable hand tools.
The following security warranty applies to this cover;
No claim will be admitted for;
• theft of tools and equipment/plant from an unattended vehicle unless the tools and equipment
are completely hidden within a locked vehicle, luggage compartment, boot or trailer;
• theft of tools and equipment/plant whilst unattended at your business premises or a contract
site unless involving violent or forcible entry into or exit from a securely locked building.

Premiums for the tools and equipment insurance start from just £58.30 per year for £1,000 of cover and we can provide cover up to whatever limit you require.
